The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, received a warm welcome from members of Indonesia’s diaspora during his visit to Brazil. Isaque Hattu, Chair of the Indonesian Diaspora in São Paulo, expressed his delight in welcoming President Prabowo and his delegation. Despite the relatively small number of Indonesian diaspora in Brazil, Hattu highlighted their strong sense of solidarity as they greeted their homeland’s leader with enthusiasm. During their meeting, Hattu shared his family background with Prabowo, including his parents’ origins in Maluku and Kupang, which the President acknowledged warmly. The exchange between Hattu and Prabowo showcased a mutual desire to strengthen ties between Indonesia and Brazil through cultural exchange and grassroots engagement. Hattu expressed hope that Prabowo’s leadership would further enhance the relationship between the two nations, fostering a deeper understanding of Indonesia’s richness among Brazilians.
