Upon his arrival, President Prabowo was greeted by the family of the deceased before visiting the chamber where Kwik Kian Gie was laid to rest. Showing deep reverence, Prabowo honored Kwik Kian Gie, who was known for his advocacy of Pancasila-based economics. Kwik, a prominent economist and political figure, passed away at the age of 90 on July 28, 2025. President Prabowo expressed his condolences and emphasized Kwik’s significant contributions to the country’s development, especially in promoting the Pancasila economy. He regarded Kwik not only as an economist but also as a dear friend and mentor who had shared invaluable insights over the years. Despite his passing, Kwik remained actively engaged until the end, offering recommendations and insights to the President. Prabowo highlighted the strong bond he shared with Kwik and the wisdom he had imparted, underscoring the loss of an exceptional figure and a true patriot of Indonesia.
