National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is actively promoting local employment by recruiting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals living in extreme poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, stated that a minimum of 30% of the personnel in each SPPG will be chosen from disadvantaged households, in line with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program supports job creation. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units working with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. The MBG Program has already reached over 7.4 million individuals nationwide, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and more. BGN plans to launch 2,401 additional SPPG units in the next 10 days to reach around 15 million beneficiaries, indicating a significant effort to support job creation and address nutritional needs in underprivileged communities.
