President Prabowo Subianto is committed to advancing Indonesian scientists on a global scale. The Deputy for Dissemination and Media Affairs at the Presidential Communication Office, Noudhy Valdryno, highlights the importance of collaboration between Indonesian researchers and international scientists. This collaboration is seen as crucial in illuminating Indonesia’s path towards becoming a developed nation. The President encourages scientists to be more involved in the public sphere to support the administration’s goal of achieving 8 percent economic growth in the next five years. This vision is in line with the Asta Cita, particularly focusing on human resource development, science, technology, education, health, sports achievement, gender equality, and empowerment of vulnerable groups.
To support scientific advancement, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is hosting the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) at Bandung Institute of Technology from August 7 to 9. This convention is praised as a crucial platform to bring together the nation’s top scientific minds. With the theme “Science and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity,” KSTI 2025 aims to facilitate collaboration between academia, industry, government, media, and civil society to accelerate Indonesia’s transformation into a high-value-added industrial economy. The event has attracted over 2,000 scientists from various regions of the country. Minister Brian Yuliarto views KSTI as a strategic initiative to unite researchers and academics in STEM fields for the advancement of the nation.
