The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force carried out a successful humanitarian aid mission to Gaza Strip, Palestine on August 17, 2025. This mission, a collaboration between the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas), saw two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft departing from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan at 10:37 a.m. local time. The aid supplies were airdropped over Gaza before the aircraft safely returned to the forward operating base by 12:25 p.m. local time.
Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, noted that the mission went smoothly without major obstacles. The aid packages included essential items such as staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children. President Prabowo Subianto personally oversaw the mission, underscoring Indonesia’s dedication to international humanitarian solidarity.
The successful completion of this mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was hailed as a moment of national pride. It showcased the country’s active role on the global stage and its contributions to global peace. Colonel Puguh Yulianto described the achievement as a historic milestone and a special gift to mark Indonesia’s Independence Day.
