Irjen. Pol. Helmy Santika, the Chief of Police of Lampung, awarded Aiptu Supriyanto from the Lampung Tengah Police Resort for his heroic act towards a traveler. He was appreciated for returning a sum of Rp100 million that was left behind at a rest area.

Irjen. Pol. Helmy then rewarded him with the opportunity to attend officer school. This was because Aiptu Supriyanto was seen as having honesty and professionalism as well as a high dedication and integrity while on duty.

“Kapolda is proud of the bravery and honesty of Aiptu Supriyanto. His actions not only reflect professionalism, but also affirm the commitment of the police to serve and protect the community wholeheartedly,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Regional Police, Kombes. Pol. Umi Fadilah, quoting a statement from Kapolda Lampung on Tuesday (16/4/24).

The officer school reward in the Police Officer Education for Transfer of Rank (PAG) will take place at the end of 2024.

“Kapolda believes that Aiptu Supriyanto is a potential leader and has the ability to make a significant contribution to maintaining security and order in Lampung,” said the Head of Public Relations.

With this award, Kapolda Lampung hopes that the actions taken by Aiptu Supriyanto will serve as an inspiration for all police officers in Lampung and the general public. What he has done can serve as an example for others to always act with honesty and integrity, and uphold moral values in everyday life.

Not only did Aiptu Supriyanto receive appreciation from Kapolda Lampung, but the Chief of Police, General Polisi Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all members who were on duty securing the 2024 Eid homecoming. General Sigit hoped that the actions of all members would be a place of worship and forgiveness from Allah SWT.

“I thank and appreciate all personnel in the field who have worked hard with sincerity to provide the best service to the community during the holy month,” said General Sigit.

Previously reported, a police officer on duty at Rest Area KM 116 A of the Trans Sumatera Toll Road in the jurisdiction of the Lampung Tengah Police Resort, Aiptu Supriyanto found a traveler’s bag left in the toilet on Sunday (14/4/24). The traveler’s bag left on the toilet wall hook turned out to contain hundreds of millions in Rp100,000 banknotes, a passport, and a mobile phone.

When he found the bag, Aiptu Supriyanto did not dare to open it alone. He took it to the post to be checked together with the security and Rest Area OB.

Aiptu Supriyanto then announced it using the mosque’s PA system in the local Rest Area, heard by the bag’s owner, and tried to contact family members. Once connected, Aiptu Supriyanto met the owner at the Rest Area mosque and returned the traveler’s bag.

It was revealed that the owner of the bag was Sukisno (55), a traveler who was going home to Belitang, South Sumatra, after visiting Java. Sukisno and his family expressed their gratitude to Aiptu Supriyanto for finding and returning his bag.

“Thank you very much, sir. May you always be blessed, healthy, and safe by Allah SWT while carrying out your duties serving the community,” said Sukisno. (*/mk)
